What is one thing not many people know about the trucking industry?

One thing many people don't know about the trucking industry is that many truckers drive between 3,000 & 4,000 miles a week. In a typical week, they work about 70 hours over 8 days. Truckers are not typically compensated for the time they spend sleeping, eating and showering away from the home. This includes time spent waiting at loading docks in many circumstances. Even though trucking is mentally and physically challenging, most truckers enjoy the profession and can't see themselves doing anything else.

What is your favorite part about being a trucker?

My favorite part of being a trucker is the traveling, seeing things that most non-truckers will never see. Plenty of people have to take time off of work to travel, I love that it is built-in to my job!

What is your go-to truck stop meal?

Over the road truckers eat plenty of meals at truck stop diners and cafes. My go to truck stop meal is a nice hamburger steak with grilled onions and gravy on top of mashed potatoes.
